Title: Executive Director

Status: Part Time, 20 hours/week

Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate to experience starting in the range of $20-$25/hour with potential for incentive compensation based on the overall health of the organization.

Reports to: MomsBloom Board of Directors

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible to oversee volunteer staff team.

About the Organization

MomsBloom provides volunteer postpartum support to mothers and families in West Michigan. We recruit, train, and match volunteers with families who request support to ensure that parents can thrive through this challenging transitional period.

About the Position

MomsBloom is currently led by its board of directors and a staff of volunteers. The Executive Director will be primarily responsible for executing and building on the strategy outlined by the board, while taking the organization to the next level. The Executive Director will help the organization develop and execute long-term plans for sustainability and raise the necessary funds to expand capacity.


Communications, Marketing, and Public Relations

  • Ensures MomsBloom and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong positive brand image to relevant stakeholders. 

  • Analyzes the activities of MomsBloom, its programs and goals, while developing a comprehensive strategic plan for future organizational development.

Financial Management

  • Develops and manages sound financial practices.

  • Examines the fiscal condition of the organization to ensure that adequate funds are available to permit MomsBloom to carry out its work.

  • Prepares and recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages MomsBloom’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.

Fundraising and Resource Development

  • Develops and implements comprehensive fundraising plan to guide the organization toward financial stability.

  • Identifies, solicits, and manages current and potential donors including maintenance of effective communication and ongoing relationships with donors regarding the use of their funds.

Volunteer Management

  • Ensures regular communication with volunteer staff team and oversees relationship building with in-home volunteers, providing feedback when necessary.

  • Maintains a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.

Legal and Regulatory

  • Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

  • Examines contract compliance.

  • Cultivates a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.


  • Experience in the nonprofit field

  • Experience managing large fundraising campaigns

  • Strong commitment to the mission of MomsBloom

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience level

  • MS/MA preferred
