MomsBloom: COVID-19 Protocol

MomsBloom is currently providing in-home support for those that are able and willing to do so. We have established COVID-19 protocol with requirements and recommendations for all involved. Each individual can establish their own requirements. We will only match volunteers and families that have aligning individual requirements.

MomsBloom volunteers ARE eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and most of our volunteers are already fully vaccinated to safely do visits with postpartum families. We will be following CDC recommendations for fully vaccinated individuals.

For all volunteers and families, we are requiring that everyone:

  • Cancel a scheduled home visit if anyone in your household has a fever or COVID-19 symptoms. Notify kimber@momsbloom.org.

  • If fully vaccinated and you are exposed to someone with COVID-19 symptoms or a diagnosis, you must notify your MomsBloom match and decide on a plan together. You are NOT required to cancel the visit.

  • If you are exposed and not fully vaccinated, you must postpone visits for at least 10 days from the last date of exposure. Notify kimber@momsbloom.org.

We are strongly recommending the following:

  • If coming from another location, please change your clothing before entering a family’s home (or before your volunteer visits)

  • Follow state recommended protocol when going out in public between visits (cloth masks, social distancing, etc.)

  • Maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet, when able, during visits

  • When unable to maintain a safe distance, it is recommended that all adults wear cloth masks

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

MomsBloom has secured donations to provide each volunteer and family with a cloth mask, thermometer, hand sanitizer and hand soap to those that are interested.

Additional Information

If an individual tests positive for COVID-19, they must report the results to our program director and stop visits immediately. An individual plan will be established and require a minimum of 10 days with no visits from the onset of symptoms.
